Classic Example of the Democrat Leadership's Evil.

I read this this morning and had my breath taken away. Such an admission of their malfeasance is stunning given trained politicians are normally better at deceit.

Money-graph:
Many Democrats have anticipated that, at best, Petraeus and U.S. ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker would present a mixed analysis of the success of the current troop surge strategy, given continued violence in Baghdad. But of late there have been signs that the commander of U.S. forces might be preparing something more generally positive. Clyburn said that would be "a real big problem for us." [Emphasis mine]
Think about that...American success and a positive analysis are bad for Democrats. It makes one wonder why the Democrats are so anxious to have their constituents killed. Or, in light of the ongoing scandals, how much they're making off of it.

It proves one thing though. When Democrats say they're supporting the troops...they are. Al Qaeda's.

Sony has no plans to cut Playstation 3 price...

It's only part of the headline. Reuters left off the ...so consumers have no plans to increase purchases. Anyways, I'm sure Nintendo appreciates Sony's gesture.

Sony VAIO customer service, Jane Galt's experience.

For all of you dreading customer service, take a gander at Sony's ineptitude. Sheesh, they're almost as bad as Congress' phone bank.

David Gross, selfish child.

Here's an article on David Gross, a selfish moron who refuses to pay taxes because he doesn't support the war. Okay, I'll play ball. How about everyone who realizes that Social Security is a Ponzi Scheme opt out? What about NEA, and NPR, etc?
"They're showing the terrorists that America is not committed," Ubaldi said.
Mr. Ubaldi is wrong, as is Gross. This shows the terrorists that they need to keep murdering civilians and kids...because morons like Gross, Ubaldi, and the rest are willing to surrender to them.

The only way terrorists can win is by the home-front surrendering. And too many seem to want that.

Obama Denounces Current Politics

In his statement today Obama said the following:
"This decision to commute the sentence of a man who compromised our national security cements the legacy of an Administration characterized by a politics of cynicism and division, one that has consistently placed itself and its ideology above the law. This is exactly the kind of politics we must change so we can begin restoring the American people's faith in a government that puts the country's progress ahead of the bitter partisanship of recent years."
I, for one, am glad that Obama has come out and demanded a serious sentence for Sandy Berger. To think that a man like Berger would willingly commit a felony by stealing classified documents and destroy them yet face no penalty shows the decay in our system.

Oh, wait...Obama was decrying the partial clemency for the victim of Nifong-esque witch hunt? Guess the 'politics of cynicism and division' are alive in well in the Barrack Barack.

Traitor speaks...

Reading the words of this moron makes you wonder how you can live in a world where up is down. Orwell would love the modern Rosannacrats.

Then again, her post is high comedy considering she's one of the few creatures on the planet to make Bush look like Stephen Hawking.

Despinning the Media - Reuters and Statistics.

Reading about Sarkozy's victory in France this morning and I came across this "women and children hardest hit" piece from the "news" organization Reuters. It's the woe story of how a female candidate got shuned by female voters...classic Lefty identity politics.

Gehmlich's failure to grasp math comes to light in this passage:
Only 48 percent of women voted for Royal, according to an Ipsos poll conducted on election day on Sunday, while 52 percent supported rightist rival and overall winner Nicolas Sarkozy.

Horrible, isn't it? A 4% difference. How did Sarkozy pull off such a coup? Well, this story shows the winning percentages as
Sarkozy, a pro-American conservative and an immigrant's son, defeated Socialist Segolene Royal by 53.06 percent to 46.94 percent with an 85 percent voter turnout, according to final results released early Monday.

So, wait a second. Royal got 48% of the female vote and 47% overall...that means she pulled more women, relative to her vote, than Sarkozy. Truthfully, it's a statistically meaningless difference, but Reuters always puts their agenda ahead of facts so don't be surprised.

The real story that you can take from this is French voters voted on issues, on jobs, and items dear to France. Not on the smear-identity politics the fuels the Left.

Despinning the Media - Sheryl Crow TP edition.

The liberal "news" outlet Reuters (famous for their doctored anti-Israeli photos), keeps at it: here. Their initial paragraph reads:

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Calling Sheryl Crow "a high profile proponent of the destruction of innocent lives," the Roman Catholic archbishop of St. Louis resigned as head of a children's medical charity that featured the singer for a benefit concert.

Archbishop Raymond Burke resigned as chairman of the Cardinal Glennon Children's Foundation after its board of governors refused to pull the plug on Crow's Saturday concert in St. Louis.

She is "well-known as an abortion activist" and proponent of stem cell research, he said in a statement on Wednesday, and her appearance is "an affront to the identity and mission of the medical center, dedicated as it is to the service of life and Christ's healing mission."

This can easily be rewritten to de-Reuterize it:

CHICAGO (Reuters) - Calling the Liberal activist Sheryl Crow "a high profile proponent of the destruction of innocent lives," the Roman Catholic archbishop of St. Louis resigned as head of a children's medical charity in protest of hypocritically featuring the activist for a benefit concert.

Archbishop Raymond Burke resigned as chairman of the Cardinal Glennon Children's Foundation after its board of governors insisted on benefiting the career of a noted toilet-paper conservationist who's concert is scheduled this Saturday in St. Louis.

The well-known abortion activist has been embroiled in controversy when she suggested that limiting toilet paper usage to a single sheet per visit would save the environment. Archbishop Burke didn't cite this recent controversy when he characterized her appearance as "an affront to the identity and mission of the medical center, dedicated as it is to the service of life and Christ's healing mission."

All parody aside, just like fake photos, Reuters introduces fake assertions as well.

They state:
She is "well-known as an abortion activist" and proponent of stem cell research, he said in a statement on Wednesday

His message (Viewable here) states:

Ms. Crow is well-known as an abortion activist. She has lent her celebrity status to the promotion of legislation, such as Missouri’s Amendment 2, that creates legal protection for human cloning and the destruction of human beings who are embryos.

and

The Catholic Church consistently teaches that actions that result in the direct killing of the innocent, such as deliberate abortion and destruction of human embryos for research, are grave offenses against the right to life found in the natural law and Divine Revelation. When, for economic gain, a Catholic institution associates itself with such a high profile proponent of the destruction of innocent lives, members of the Church and other people of good will have the right to be confirmed in their commitment to the Gospel of Life.

While I'm not surprised by Reuters doing this latter part, it's their MO after all, it's still disgusting and despicable.

Despinning the Media.

Seriously, if I could get paid for despinning, I'd be rich. But, reading the 'Shiites want America out' BS over the weekend and comparing it with actual turnout there's nothing I need to do here. It just further illustrates how the AP, AFP, NYTimes, WashPost, Reuters, and the rest aren't 'news organizations.' They're active allies of Iran, al Qaeda, Sadr, and the rest. And, worse than that, as war profiteers, they actually enrich themselves by getting our soldiers killed.

It's not just sick, it's criminal. I just wish they were being held accountable.

Iran shudders, Britain humiliated??

Hearing a number of Lefty pundits, and even most general opininati try to make this out as a British loss, I'm going to have have to side with Kenneth R. Timmerman and Mickey Kaus. This was a disaster to Iran, all around. Iran looking like it has no control over its forces, to being unable to get their intel operatives freed in Iraq, to undermining their allies the EU and UN.

They can't afford too many more of these, which is a good thing for those of us who like freedom and liberty.

Pirates 3 Trailer

I'm so looking forward to this film.

Enjoy the trailer.

Games don't make people crazy.

Busy day and I've been ranting on the same topic too much lately. So, instead, enjoy this article which reaffirms the common sense notion that people who go off the deep-end because of computer games were probably troubled to start.

All Surrender All The Time

Another example of "Porkbarrel" Pelosi's posse's charge headlong in retreat, desparate to snatch defeat from the mouth of victory. I swear, these people would order the flag lowered on Mt. Suribachi in WW2.

Money quote in the article:
“There was no political intent in doing this,” said a Democratic aide who asked not to be identified. “We were just trying to avoid catch phrases.”

This is, among us 'peasants', known as a 'bald-faced lie'. It's purely political. It's an attempt to divide what truly is a global war into neat, tidy packages so they can sell out our soldiers more than once.

It's pretty obvious that people like this 'Staff Director' Erin Conaton (D-Michael Moore) aren't satisfied with getting our troops killed in just one war zone...they want them dead all over the place. What's really infuriating is this Conaton person claiming to 'avoid catch phrases' and supply the following:

  • “the war in Iraq”

  • "the war in Afghanistan"

  • “operations in the Horn of Africa”

  • “ongoing military operations throughout the world”

Nice job avoiding catch phrases Erin...the supply of catch phrases you provided to replace a catch phrase is most appreciated.

Now, channeling a knowledge of history, Erin on Ike's staff would have changed "World War II" into "War against Germany", "War in Italy", "Operations in North Africa", "Ongoing operations in the Pacific", etc.

Finalist, 'Didn't Read the Brouchure'

How the heck did this fella end up like this?

According to court documents, Zabala said he was appalled by the "blood lust" of one officer and broke into tears when shown pictures of dead Iraqis. He said his informal study of Buddhism led him to a belief in the "sanctity of life."

Blood lust? Tears? Sanctity of life?

The military exists for 'precisely' two reasons, to kill people and break things. Nothing else. What did this guy think he would find? Candycanes? Unicorns?

Reading the article, he seems more intent on getting free press from this.

UPDATE: Found a non-registration article on this story. Ye Gods this Zabala is dense.
"This organization trains to kill human life." - Zabala

How, in the world, does someone not know this about the USMC? Perhaps he should have taken a moment to read up on them? And I'm not sure how he can reconcile his fake shock at boot camp with the Marine concept of every Marine being a rifleman. What does Zabala think rifles are for? Holding flowers?

Of course, maybe he could have just asked his family.
Zabala's grandfather served in Vietnam, his parents and uncles were in the Navy, one cousin is in the Air Force and another cousin is the Marines, according to Collier.

This is either the densest lump of humanity to come out of UCSC in some time, or one of the savvier self-promotion people around. Given the poisoned atmosphere, I'm voting for the latter.

Despining Reuters

This article is quite breath-taking. I was going to comment on it earlier, but James Taranto does a much better job.

All I'll add is that, given Reuters' policy to not call their Al Qaeda allies terrorists, Reuters doesn't use the word terrorism until the 7th paragraph. There, they call it "Bush's war on terrorism", intentionally ignoring that Al Qaeda declared war on the West and seeks to exterminate our way of life.

Things like environmentalism, freedom of the press, freedom of speech, freedom of religion (that includes you atheists too), women's lib, etc are all at stake.

And Reuters wants to make it sound like this is some optional confrontation of a President. Oh, and yes, they have to throw in the discongruous "Home-grown extremists" two paragraphs above this.

Sheesh Reuters. Pitiful.

"Porkbarrel" Pelosi in Syria.

Another fine example of your pork dollars at work. "Porkbarrel" Pelosi (D-Tehran), having worked so hard to sell out our fighting soldiers, is doing a victory lap with her allies in Damascus.

Meanwhile, while she's getting her marching orders, she's also been busy shutting down the formerly-non-partisan Congressional Research Service so we can't see her corruption.

Just another of her steps in Pelosi-brand anti-Americanism. Remember, when it's Pelosi, it's killing our soldiers.

UPDATE: Take a look at the picture here. That's the face of modern feminism, ladies. And investors, consider going into the headscarf business. Our Speaker of the House is determined to make them required.

Despinning the AFP.

The AFP does its best to spin this story.

The headline reads: "Government must deal with greenhouse gases: US Supreme Court".

Nice spin, if you can get the job.

Now, when a 5-4 decision goes against the media it's always reported as being a 'divided court'.

Headline AFP should use: "Narrowly divided Supreme Court rules against science."

Why is it against science? Because CO2, carbon dioxide, is not a polutant. Never has been, never will be. It's vital to plants, is a natural waste product from animals, and is exhausted from the oceans and volcanos in volumes our industry can't even begin to approach. Junk science, junk ruling, typical media bias.

And, for you consipracy nuts out there, remember, every time you breathe, you're exhaling something the EPA can regulate.

Iran's up to bat, time to strike her out.

This excellent piece by Jules Crittenden is very eloquent in what we must do. Abducting sailors in Iraqi water, violating the 3rd Geneva Convention, and the rest are the last straws. It's time to hold Iran accountable and bring neo-Persia crashing down.

Since they're the primary financer and arms merchant for the anti-Iraq forces we're fighting, bringing down Iran will allow us to leave Iraq sooner. Besides, it's not like Iranian incursions are rare. So, if you're pro-early withdrawal from Iraq, you are, by default, pro-taking-down-Iran.

Bomb the Revolutionary Guard out of existence, destroy the communication systems, and let the Iranian people do the rest for us. They're as sick of these monsters as we are.

Well, not counting "Porkbarrel" Pelosi (D-Tehran), she's quite content to sell out our soldiers and coddle enemies.

Saturday, March 31, 2007

Don't fall for things this Sunday.

It's April Fool's Day after all. While most people concentrate on the pranks and a few are wise to the history of the day, it's a fun, harmless day all the way around. Just be on guard. :)

Oh, and as pranks go, until someone tops this, I remain unimpressed.

Nixon to China, Pelosi to Syria

In her continued stewardship of the 'most ethical Congress in history', Liberal earmark-king Nancy "Porkbarrel" Pelosi (D-Tehran) decided to pay a visit to an openly hostile regime. Wonder how she'll spin that to the Israelis she's visiting now ("Sure, they're arming Hezbollah, but they're so cuddly when they do it."?) or our the families of slain soldiers whose murderers were supplied via Syria (Maybe the Syrians offered her $20 billion in earmarks?).

Either way, the trip stinks and it shows the rot endemic to her leadership.

Locals reject UN.

This article in the LA Times talks about how our local community rejected World Heritage designation from the UN for a section of the county. World Heritage designation can mean quite an influx of tourism and popularity for the site. Which is often one of the selling points.

Now having been through that region, the Carrizo Plain is a very beautiful region and I can see why it was nominated. What struck me though is the politics revealed in the article. Take, for example, the following passage:

"I'm disappointed," [Geary] Hund said Friday. "I've talked to World Heritage site managers across the U.S. and none of them could think of any drawbacks. What a site gets is recognition and prestige, and those that aren't well-known stand to get increased agency attention and the possibility of attracting more money through grants."

Hund is listing fame, prestige, and money as the reasons San Luis Obispo county should have approved it. How is that the right selling point for a natural preserve? This turns it from the supposedly special designation into nothing different than normal business transaction, which isn't the point.

Reading on further we get to a more central argument, and that's summed up by Alberta Lewis (a member of the Carrizo Plain ranch family):

"I can see no intelligent reason to tie up any of America with the United Nations. Please, supervisors, don't give away any more of our country."

The UN is genuinely hated by large swaths of this country, and rightly so. As the UN exists to empower genocide and dictators and restrain the US and freedom, there's no respect left for it in major swaths of this country. I'm a little surprised it manifested itself here, but only in the locale not in the manifestation.

[Supervisor James Patterson] said the plan was derailed by "an almost-hysteria about the U.N. coming to San Luis Obispo County.

Again, it's not a hysteria in that the UN has done nothing to earn the respect of Americans. When a genocidal regime like Sudan is placed on a human right commission, a commission that cites America for violations, then why should we give a whit about it?

So, some of my local countrymen rejected it, which is a bit sad in that the plain is a great eco-tourism spot, but is also quite encouraging in that they stood up for what is right. And, face it, the UN (from corruption to supporting dictators to encouraging genocide) is on the wrong side of history.

Congrats to the people of SLO.

Rudy must be scaring them.

Based on the smear pieces released, curiously on the same day, by al-Qaeda propaganda wing the AP and Democrat party apparatus the NY Times, Rudy must be doing better in their internal polls than I realized. If organizations allied against secular, Western civilization don't like you...you've got my vote.

Rosie O'Donnell

Perusing Instapundit this morning I came across this clip of Liberal pundit Rosie (D-ABC) just going berserk. It not only illustrates what a buffoon she is, but how the Left's whole way of thinking is self-parody.

Countering her is simple, just use facts. But for a screamingly vocal minority of the West, facts don't mean a thing.

That and, along with Liberal pundit Al Franken (D-Air America), I've noticed that a 'comedian' is something very different on the Left than what I grew up understanding. See, I thought a comedian was funny. Maybe Rosie and Al missed the message.

UPDATE: Courtesy of Instapundit, Popular Mechanics explains the paranoid ravings of Rosie.

Iranian Hostages, the Sequel

Reading about Iran's hostage gambit, and it's a deja vu bit all over again. Now while it's obvious Iran has coerced propaganda from these 15 in clear violation of the Third Geneva Convention, it's pretty pathetic that they resorted to this. Old Jack Tar asks the pertinent question of what this PC force was doing out there anyway. Those captives are now hurting their fellow soldiers...where is their training?

I mean, baby killing is more their style, or having Hezbollah or Hamas do their fighting for them.

My question for the blogosphere, we know the Brits were in Iraqi water, the GPS equipment proves that. What if Iran's claimed locations (they're at two now) are accurate. If the seizure took place as originally claimed (more likely than the second), then this is also Iran illegally claiming Iraqi sovereign territory. An angle that, while unneeded, can be thrown in really mess up the whole affair.

Feinstein Follies

Having followed her career for years, I'm not surprised to see what's hopefully the end of her career. I'm not hopeful, as her allies won't report it, but Liberal porkbarreler Feinstein (D-Perini Corp) finally got caught with her hand in the cookie jar.

What's the jar? The fact that she's been a ranking member or chair of military appropriations and her husband owns two defense contractors. If she's lucky, she'll get to resign her office. I'm personally hoping for a "perp walk" myself.

Dianne, if anyone in your camp reads this, take one for California and resign. There's really no recovering from this kind of corruption scandal.

76% Find Gore Unqualified to Talk on Global Warming

This Rasmussen poll finds that only 24% consider socialist activist Al Gore (D-Washington, DC) an expert on Global Warming. Of course, that might be because he's unwilling to sacrifice himself, or perhaps it's because he's not practicing what he preaches, and using 'parlor tricks' to make himself feel better.

Americans know a hypocrit when they see one...and they see one clearly in Gore. And while he's wrong on man-made climate change, the damage he's doing to the legitimate environmental issues is disheartening.

New Hero for me.

Saw this video today, and wow. Evan Sayet gives definitely one of the most inspiring lectures I've heard in some time. Now I wish my party would speak this clearly.

Evan Sayet for Prez in '08? He's got my nomination. :)

Munich II, A Sequel 69 Years in the making.

With Pelosi (D-Tehran) desperate to sell out the US and its soldiers, Don Surber follows up my theme from earlier, $130 million / vote. Certainly undermines the meme that war is too expensive.

Hat tip to Instapundit.

Video games and public policy.

So I was playing Paradox's Hearts of Iron 2 and while playing Germany I was able to conquer Britain and throw the allies out of Europe. So, naturally, the Germans need to be given control over Europe...I did it in a simulation, so it must be true.

What? Don't think they'll go for it?

Yeah, probably not. Which is why I see the game-style simulations being used to scare children about 'Man Made Global Warming' so infuriating. Sadly, MMGW is perhaps the greatest con-job of modern times, a modern Piltdown Man.

The rallying cry from Gore's hypeumentary was about a concensus of scientists agree on man being the cause to climate change. There's a problem though, the data says no, we're not.

An ideologue like Gore doesn't want you to understand that. After all, the concensus of scientists felt the space between planets was filled with luminiferous aether, that women couldn't handle tasks like men, and that there was no continent at the south pole. And those are just in the past 200 years.

Data killed them all, as it killed Gore's hypeumentary long before his handlers started forcing it down the throats of innocent kids.

If you care about the environment, the BBC documentary Great Global Warming Swindle is a must watch. And the comments are a hoot, as for the most part they show the failure of science education.

That's the best they can do?

218-212 is the final vote for surrending, no shock my local rep Capps went with that majority.

But what I find very amusing is the 3 vote margin of victory. With all the media behind them, $20 of pork bribes in the bill, and a shrill minority crying for our soldiers blood...they could only muster a win by 3 votes.

So much for that 'mandate' they've falsely claimed. No wonder my Democrat friends are annoyed at these people.

Democrats Vote to Surrender

The leadership of the Democrat Party actually followed through on their pledge to surrender to Al Qaeda. I'm very impressed. They won in November because the American people were sick of the corruption and pork of the Republicans...so the 'cleanest congress in history' Democrats needed $21 billion in bribes to get the $103 spending bill passed.

Way to go. Of course, it's an egocentric lie, but that's what Pelosi, Murtha, and the rest need to loot the general coffers with their pork-barrel theft.

"The American people have lost faith in the president's conduct of this war," said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Tehran. "The American people see the reality of the war, the president does not."

This canard is based on the President's 34% approval rating. That rationale means that Congress, at 30% approval, has no grounds to lecture. Pelosi, honey, the American people have no faith in your ability to conduct war, conduct business, or do the work of the American people.

You're there for the money and there to sell out our nation.

And innocent Arab children, men, and women...Afghani, Pushtan, and the rest will keep being the targets of bombings until the terrorists stop having you as their sole means of victory.

Take a stand...for our soliders, our way of life, and the people being killed because of your Code Pink and MoveOn allies! Pelosi, lead the Democrat party to a position of actually supporting the troops.

Not supporting their murderers.

Code Pink - An enemy's ally is...

So, I was noticing that the nuts in Code Pink plan to take over Pelosi's office. As someone vehemently opposed to Code Pink's treachery, I applaud their working to link themselves to Pelosi. I've always appreciated when morons self-align themselves for easier sorting.

What really gets me is this bit: "the Democratic leadership’s inaction of ending the war in Iraq." All sides act to end the Global Civil War (of which Iraq is just a part).

The problem is Code Pink favors appeasement and surrender. No winning, no victory, no helping oppressed people thrive...just surrender to 12th century barbarians.

It's one thing to end a war by winning, it's another by surrender. Makes you wonder how much hate these people have that they'd prefer to surrender than win against groups dedicated to exterminate Code Pink members and their supporters.

If I were a psychologist...just one Pinky as a client would leave me set for life.

Wednesday, March 21, 2007

Wonder if they'd be this way if they met a real Army unit.

It's easy to behave like the barbarians we're fighting when we are a society that won't let the soliders 'talk back.'

On the positive side...it's a nice collection of cowards, bigots, and haters. Don't often see them outside a museum. Put white robes on them and hoods and they'd be just like their spiritual predecessors.

Whom the servant serves.

What finally got me back into this was this article which ledes with the fascinating quote "All irrelevant. Rush Limbaugh is irrelevant. I am not his servant." - Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger

It's good our governor doesn't serve a talk show host. He governs while someone like Rush is there to entertain.

But, based on policies and hubris coming from Sacramento it's obvious that our governor doesn't serve Californians or California. In fact the only people he seems to serve are celebrities and their pet causes. Almost as if he's turned Sacramento into a continual 'after-party' for some big movie wrap.

Take, for example, his desire to impoverish Californians to pick up the chic cause of 'climate change.' Is climate changing? Yes, it always changes. Is man causing it? There's no science to show that. None. And no 'majority opinion' of scientists can overcome this lack of research.

If Gov. Porkenegger was truly concerned about it he'd divert funds into our world-class research institutions so the matter could be actually looked into. Not divert funds into the causes of his Hollywood pals. The former, funding research, is what a people's servant would do. The latter, funding over-hyped frauds, is what a self servant would do.

Which means I guess I have the answer to my question of who the Porkenegger serves.

*cough* Dutsy in here

I'd meant to be good blogging, but it's amazing what happens when life intervenes. Well, this is SBViking 2.0, lets see where it gets us.
